The Gianna Angelopoulos Programme

for Science Technology and Innovation

The Governance and Management structure of the Programme is illustrated in the figure below.

The Board of Fund Managers will oversee the allocation of resources within the Programme, as the Programme expands and grows. It will be charged with ensuring the funds are being allocated appropriately, and in line with the vision for the Programme as a whole.

The International Scientific Advisory Board will comprise a group of eminent international scientists recruited to offer advice and scientific oversight of the Programme’s research strategy. The Board will also help drive international collaborations for the Programme, and will promote the Programme for recruitment purposes. The Board will meet twice annually.

The Director will drive the establishment, development and promotion of the Programme, ensure quality standards, and integrate the Programme with the University’s academic and broader ecosystem. The post will be held by Dr Nikolaos Nikiforakis, an academic with key expertise in the relevant fields and considerable experience in running similar programmes, such as the 10-year Centre for Doctoral Training in Computational Methods in Materials Science.

A Programme Coordination Team (Co-ordinator & Communications Officer and Computer Officer) will be employed to ensure a professional standard of programme delivery.
