The Gianna Angelopoulos Programme
Cassandra is a PhD student in Physics, in the Laboratory for Scientific Computing, working on computational methods for multiphase flows.
Previously, she obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Geophysics at Imperial College London, followed by the MPhil in Scientific Computing at the University of Cambridge.
Her current research combines these two fields, focusing on the simulation of the transport and evolution of particle laden flows. Specifically, this simulation is for the purposes of enabling the retrieval of geothermal energy on a global scale, and is a collaboration with Quaise Energy.
In the future, Cassandra hopes to continue utilizing knowledge of computational multiphysics to analyse and solve problems particularly in the Earth sciences, such as in the energy and transport sectors.
